Cursor announced that it has officially been acquired by SpaceX, completing a process that started in April when it announced a partnership with SpaceXAI to accelerate its model training. The company says it will have access to the largest fleet of GPUs in the world and the compute to build stronger models that are cheaper to run, which it expects to turn into more capable models at lower cost for customers.
Cursor points to Grok 4.6, released the same week, as an early example of what the companies can build together. The post does not give deal terms, product roadmaps, or changes to model choice for existing customers.
