The company is building a U.S.-based contract research organization for biotech and pharmaceutical customers, combining chemists, AI and robotics to make and test research compounds.
Its initial service will be lead-optimization analog synthesis: producing variations of molecules for scientists to compare during drug-candidate research. Warp says customers will choose which molecules to pursue and retain control of their drug programs; the company says it is not developing its own drugs.
Kevin Weil is co-founder and CEO; Solomon Reisberg is co-founder and chief scientific officer; Manohar Paluri is co-founder and CTO; and DJ Patil is co-founder and COO. Lightspeed led the round, with Premji Invest, Mayfield, IVP, Lux, Menlo Ventures and others participating.
The announcement does not provide service pricing, laboratory capacity, customer names, delivery timelines, performance data, or independently verified evidence that its AI and robotics shorten drug-discovery cycles.
