Codex could already run cloud tasks, but the reported update makes environments more persistent and configurable. OpenAI says they can be accessed from a computer, phone, or the cloud, and shared with approved settings and permissions.
The report also describes a refreshed Codex CLI with voice task control, an /agents view for delegating and tracking concurrent tasks, and improvements to prompt editing, session resumption, worktrees, and the terminal interface. A new code-review experience in the ChatGPT desktop app lets users inspect summaries and changes, ask Codex about issues, and use automatic reviews before commenting on GitHub pull requests or GitLab merge requests.
OpenAI also announced Codex Security Cloud, which can scan GitHub repositories on demand, on a schedule, or when commits arrive; it investigates findings, removes duplicates, and prepares fixes in the cloud. The report says Daybreak Blue cybersecurity models are included without a separate application. It does not establish pricing, usage limits, geographic availability, or the precise rollout status for each capability.
