The feature gives each Glean agent its own governed account in every connected system, rather than having the agent operate under an individual employee’s credentials.
Builders can attach administrator-governed service credentials when configuring agents and can set up dedicated Slack and Teams apps. Administrators manage service credentials and Knowledge Profiles through the Admin console using existing access controls. Glean says the feature is available by default.
The release describes the result as clearer attribution for agent activity and tighter governance over what an agent can access. It does not state a price, customer adoption figures, or a complete matrix of permissions and connector support.
The same release also contains other changes, including six MCP server templates and general availability for the Platform Skills API, but those are separate announcements from Agent Identity.
