DEEP Robotics field-tests DR02 humanoid robots for traffic duty and tourist guidance in Hangzhou's Xihu District

In one minute

DEEP Robotics said it field-tested a batch of DR02 humanoid robots in Hangzhou’s Xihu District in early October.

What changed: Same event as DEEP Robotics' Humanoid Robot Debuts in Xihu District, Exploring New Approaches to Smart Transportation

The trials covered visitor inquiries and guidance at Xixi National Wetland Park, plus traffic-support duties at intersections including Zheda Road and West Wenyi Road in Lingyin Subdistrict.

According to the company’s October 8 release, the robots operated during continuous rain and have IP66 whole-machine protection. DEEP Robotics said the units navigated around pedestrians and vehicles, used hand signals for traffic direction, delivered multilingual route and transport information, and issued voice reminders after visually identifying behaviors such as missing e-bike helmets, overloading, and line crossing.

The activity was described as a product field test for traffic support, order maintenance, and tourist consultation. The release does not provide the number of robots deployed, trial duration, intervention or accuracy rates, safety incidents, operator-supervision requirements, or evidence that the robots will enter permanent public-service use.
