Cursor's in-editor agent gains Computer Use , controlling any desktop app on your local machine.

In one minute

Cursor has added Computer Use to its in-editor agent.

What changed: Cursor's in-editor agent can now control any desktop app locally, distinct from the previously reported iOS-based remote control of computer agents.

The feature lets the agent click and type across desktop applications on the user’s local machine, rather than limiting it to code, a terminal, or browser-based work.

Cursor cites the iOS Simulator as an example: an agent can use the application while testing a feature it has built. According to the supplied product material, the agent may invoke Computer Use when needed for a task, and a user can also request it by mentioning Computer Use in a prompt.

Cursor’s download page currently lists desktop release version 3.27, with downloads for macOS, Windows, and Linux variants. The supplied source does not establish which operating systems or applications support Computer Use, what permissions it receives, what safety controls apply, whether the capability is enabled for every account, or whether it carries a separate charge.
