The hosted service is scheduled to become read-only on November 22, 2026, 30 days after the notice.
After that date, applications will not be able to create, update, or delete data in Chroma Cloud. Existing data will remain readable for another 30 days. On December 22, 2026, Chroma Cloud will stop serving read requests as well.
Chroma tells customers to redirect write workloads, export and validate retained data, move active workloads to another Chroma deployment or database, and remove or rotate Cloud credentials. Open-source ChromaDB continues under the Apache 2.0 license, and the notice says Replit will continue contributing to that project.
The notice applies to the existing Chroma Cloud service. It does not identify a replacement managed service, provide migration pricing or data-export details, or establish the terms of any relationship between Chroma and Replit.
