Spain-Based Startups Advance Regional Innovation With Barcelona Supercomputing Center

In one minute

The Barcelona Supercomputing Center’s AI Factory Accelerator Programme is now fully operational following a pilot, according to NVIDIA.

What changed: This announces BSC’s accelerator services and named startup advances; none of the archive documents cover BSC or this announcement.

Startups can access sovereign compute, technical support and training; some services are now available through the NVIDIA Inception portal. BSC reports delivering more than 800 services to public- and private-sector clients since the AI Factory launched in April 2025. NVIDIA highlights three accelerator participants: Qatium, whose water-network technology is in early production; OneCareAI, developing ECG analysis intended to identify signs of hidden atrial fibrillation; and Avatia, which built a voice-first multi-agent system for pharmaceutical companies. An extension of MareNostrum 5 is planned to provide supercomputing access through BSC and other European AI Factories.
