Claude announced that Projects now run from one conversation, starting in Claude Code. A user describes what needs doing, and Claude directs parallel threads that keep working after the laptop is closed. The feature is in beta for select Pro and Max users in cloud sessions and is coming to all Claude users soon. Boris Cherny said Projects are how he writes a lot of his code.
The mechanism shifts the developer's role from steering one session to delegating to an orchestrator that runs several threads in the cloud. The announcement does not specify limits on parallel threads, usage costs, or how conflicts between threads are resolved.
