Field note
WorkOS shipping a management MCP server is a practical sign that SaaS admin surfaces are becoming agent-addressable.
The useful shift is not merely adding an AI helper to a dashboard. WorkOS is exposing management actions through a protocol that agents can call from their existing environments. For infrastructure products, that means the admin plane starts to look like a typed tool surface rather than a collection of screens.
This is where MCP becomes operationally important. A company can let an agent inspect or change identity-related configuration only if the action surface is bounded, authenticated, reviewable, and narrow enough to audit. The product question becomes: which admin workflows deserve an agent interface, and which still require a human-only gate?
