Vercel CLI adds 'vercel budgets' to view and manage Spend Management budgets and alert history

In one minute

Vercel has added Spend Management controls to its CLI.

What changed: Same event as Manage spend from the terminal.

The new vercel budgets command returns a team's current spend and active On-Demand Budget, making those values available to scripts and agents as well as interactive CLI users.

Teams can create or update a budget with vercel budgets set --amount <dollars>, remove it with vercel budgets remove --yes, and inspect alert history with vercel budgets alerts. Alert history supports --since, --until, --limit, and --json; a bare budget command shows the three most recent alerts.

A budget alone does not stop usage. The --pause option pauses production deployments for all projects once spend reaches 100% of the budget. Managing budgets requires an Owner or Billing role. Spend Management is included for Pro teams and Enterprise teams on the Flexible Commitment plan. The announcement does not establish how broadly teams are using these controls or quantify any savings from them.
