The deployment expands an initial pilot involving 1,000 employees and is described by the companies as Uber's first company-wide deployment of an agentic platform for knowledge work.
ChatGPT Work runs within ChatGPT Enterprise and can connect to Google Drive, Gmail, Google Calendar, and Slack. OpenAI lists research, meeting briefs, presentations, data analysis, and workflows across applications as intended uses. Uber will use GPT-6.1 Sol as the default capability in ChatGPT Work, according to the announcement; voice and image-generation capabilities are also included in the available OpenAI portfolio.
Uber says the rollout is accompanied by an internal AI skills library, approved integrations, and employee training. Its engineering teams will continue using Codex for software-development workflows.
The announcement does not provide contract pricing, adoption or usage figures, measured productivity outcomes, details of the approved integrations, or evidence of results from the expanded deployment. The companies say they plan to share adoption, use-case, and outcome information as the rollout progresses.
