Terrascope: Braille-rendered terminal world map with live weather, aircraft, earthquakes, and day/night layers

In one minute

Terrascope, a Braille-rendered interactive world map for the terminal, has prepared a stable 1.0.0 release.

What changed: Terrascope adds a terminal-based interactive globe with live aircraft, weather, radar, and earthquake data; the prior described gods-eye-view’s real-time 3D Earth map with flights, ships, satellites, earthquakes, and street cameras.

The GitHub repository describes live layers for weather, aircraft, earthquakes, radar, and the day/night boundary, alongside country and place labels.

The project is written in Python and renders the map with Unicode Braille characters and terminal colours. Recent repository work adds release packaging for Linux: .deb, .rpm, AppImage, and tarball artifacts for x86_64 and ARM64; the repository also contains Arch package recipes. The project lists seven tags and 29 commits at the time reflected by the source.

The source documents repository code and release-preparation work, not independent validation of the live feeds, their coverage, refresh rate, availability, or accuracy. It also does not establish operating cost, service guarantees, or whether every listed package is currently published for download. Source: https://github.com/a-shygun/Terrascope
