What changed: Cline Desktop v0.0.49 adds local model installation and management through Ollama or LM Studio.

Cline released Desktop v0.0.49. The desktop client now has a Local Models settings page for managing Ollama and LM Studio models. The release notes list setup guidance, model and storage details, and a composer indicator for the memory used by a loaded model.

The update adds a Changes pane for files edited in the last turn or across a session, including per-file diffs. A project-files panel provides a file tree, read-only tabbed viewer, Git status letters, and a File/Diff toggle for files edited by the agent. These views work in local and SSH environments. An integrated terminal can be toggled with Ctrl+backtick.

Pull-request status is now a session-header menu showing the PR title, merge status, and checks, with actions to open or create a PR, copy the branch name, and refresh. Keybindings are configurable in Settings. The release also says sessions with transcripts over about 8 MB can resume again, and model requests retry at most three times rather than five.

The notes do not establish the performance, compatibility, or quality of any local model, nor do they provide benchmark results for the new workflow.
