The release retunes the brainstorming skill introduced in v7.0.0: when given an existing project, specification, plan, or files, it now reads that context before its first message. It then restates the request and asks about the remaining open point, rather than opening with the same generic questions.
The skill now presents two or three implementation approaches, recommends one, and writes a design document before building. The release notes report one test scenario in which brainstorming skipped the document in 24 of 24 runs before the change and 3 of 24 runs after it. The maintainers say further tuning is expected.
The release also reorganizes three long skills for Claude Code compaction. According to the notes, Claude Code re-attaches skills after compaction but cuts each at 20,000 characters. subagent-driven-development and writing-skills move material into reference files, while a size test fails any SKILL.md at 20,000 bytes. Issue and pull-request templates now request a human-written summary under 200 words. The source does not establish whether these changes improve outcomes across projects beyond the cited test scenario.
