According to the release notes, plugins run in separate processes and are distributed through a checksum-verified catalog. They declare their required network hosts, secrets, and permissions up front. The Plugin API is version 1.2; plugins can return images to the model, request desktop access through permissions.desktop, and add WhatsApp or desktop channels.
Two official plugins ship for macOS, Windows, and Linux. WhatsApp supports chat and two-way voice calls through a linked device, including spoken approvals. Optimus can inspect the screen and operate pointer, scrolling, and typing controls, with an on-screen control overlay; the notes say consequential actions ask for confirmation and a spoken “stop” halts activity.
The release also includes web search, media input support, dashboard changes, and bug fixes. It does not establish an independent security assessment of the permission model, the reliability of the desktop automation, or operational results from real deployments.
