The company says Duet is available as a standalone app on iOS, Android, and claude.ai, initially for Pro and Max subscribers in the United States.
Duet is built around Claude Opus 5.5 and carries over a user's Claude memory, skills, and connected apps. It can run tasks in a virtual machine with its own browser while the user's device is offline. Anthropic says it can use more than 6,000 Marketplace connectors and plugins, including Gmail, Slack, QuickBooks, Stripe, Gusto, HubSpot, Docusign, Canva, and Shopify.
The preview is included in Pro and Max plans and shares their existing usage limits. Background account checks and larger tasks consume those limits. Duet checks connected accounts every few hours rather than continuously. It requires approval before sending messages, making payments, signing documents, or deleting data; securities trading and transfers between accounts are unavailable even with approval.
Anthropic says the product has classifiers, prompt safeguards, adversarial testing, penetration testing, and a bug bounty scope. The announcement does not establish independent measurements of reliability, security effectiveness, task completion rates, or the practical capacity of plan limits.
