In one minute

Harness said it has acquired select Augment Code assets, including Cosmos, the Auggie CLI, the Code Context Engine, and related technology.

What changed: Same event as Harness acquires Augment Code's Cosmos, Auggie CLI and Code Context Engine, launches Cosmos Software Factory Agent

The team behind those products will join Harness. The announcement was published by CEO Jyoti Bansal on October 8, 2026 and was last updated October 19, 2026.

Cosmos is being renamed Harness Cosmos Software Factory Agent and is available now, according to the company. Harness describes event-driven workflows triggered by ticket updates, pull requests, schedules, or webhooks. It says the agent can plan changes, write code and tests, open pull requests, and continue through review comments, failed checks, and merge conflicts. Prebuilt Experts include PR Author, Deep Reviewer, Risk Analyzer, and Verifier.

Harness plans to connect Augment's Code Context Engine with its Software Delivery Knowledge Graph, bringing delivery, testing, security, deployment, and operational context into engineering workflows. The source does not disclose the purchase price or other transaction terms, an integration timetable, customer migration details, or independent evidence of performance, reliability, or productivity gains.
