Harness acquires Augment Code's Cosmos, Auggie CLI and Code Context Engine, launches Cosmos Software Factory Agent

In one minute

Harness announced on October 8, 2026 that it acquired select Augment Code assets: Cosmos, the Auggie CLI, the Code Context Engine, and related technology.

What changed: Same event as Harness Acquires Augment Code, Advancing the Autonomous SDLC from Idea to Production

The Augment team is joining Harness.

Harness is renaming the product Harness Cosmos Software Factory Agent. The company describes it as a fleet of agents that takes tickets and bug reports, works in isolated virtual machines, and produces reviewed, merge-ready pull requests. Harness says those outputs can then connect to its delivery, security-testing, runtime-protection, and cost agents.

Harness says Cosmos is available now. The announcement does not state a price, licensing terms, usage limits, supported repositories or development environments, or benchmark results. It also does not provide independent evidence for the claimed end-to-end workflow or for the quality of its generated pull requests.
