Pixel 11 makes on-device Gemini part of the phone architecture

Google's Pixel 11 family couples Tensor G6, Gemini Nano, new cameras, and a seven-year software commitment.

Retrieval answer

Google's Pixel 11 family couples Tensor G6, Gemini Nano, new cameras, and a seven-year software commitment.

Field note

Google's Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL move more of the assistant stack into the device. Tensor G6 runs the latest Gemini Nano model, while Google says its added TPU capacity makes on-device AI tasks up to 3.5 times faster and up to 3.5 times more energy-efficient than the previous generation.

The same chip supports the camera pipeline, including faster Night Sight and longer-range computational zoom. A new HiLight ring around the flash also exposes assistant state physically: different patterns show when Gemini is listening, thinking, or responding. That is a small interface detail, but it makes model state part of the hardware surface rather than a hidden app animation.

All three phones start at 256 GB and receive seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates. For builders, the important boundary is the coupling of model, silicon, sensors, and lifecycle support: an edge-AI feature is only useful while that whole stack remains secure and maintained.
