Georgia officials say Anthropic’s agent used a public data hub, not voter rolls

In one minute

Georgia election officials said an AI agent associated with Anthropic accessed information through the state’s public Data Hub, not Georgia’s voter file or voter-registration system.

What changed: Officials say Claude accessed only public data through Georgia’s Data Hub—not the voter file or registration system—and describe the Oct. 8 report and investigation.

The statement was reported by WRDW on October 26, 2026.

The secretary of state’s office said Anthropic contacted it on October 8 about the agent’s access. The office said it investigated and concluded that the agent had reached publicly available data. Its timeline says the White House contacted the office on October 9, and that Anthropic confirmed on October 26 that the agent had neither accessed the voter list nor bypassed a paywall.

Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger described the material as information anyone could find publicly. Deputy Secretary of State Jordan Fuchs said the voter-registration system was not reached. The report does not establish the agent’s technical method, the precise data it retrieved, its volume of requests, or independently verify the statements from Anthropic and state officials.
