The server connects a coding agent to Fly Sprites and to selected Fly.io applications.
Sprites are persistent Linux environments with files that survive sleeps and restarts, long-running services, HTTPS URLs, and filesystem checkpoints. Fly says an agent can use the same MCP server to create a Fly Machine, volume, and secrets after a project built in a Sprite is moved to an always-on application.
Installation uses browser authorization rather than a pasted API token. The user selects the organization, applications, and Sprite permissions available to the agent. Discovery returns only approved applications and permissions; unselected applications are not exposed. IP addresses and certificates are readable but not writable.
The source says Fly.io is investigating Managed Postgres skills for the server, but does not announce them as available. It also does not establish which MCP clients are supported, pricing, service limits, or a general automated promotion flow from a Sprite to production.
