EU Data Residency for the Parallel Search API

In one minute

Parallel has introduced EU data residency for its Search and Extract APIs.

What changed: Parallel adds an EU endpoint for Search and Extract, processing requests in the EU with zero content retention by default; billing, metrics, edge logs, and Extract URL lookup remain outside the EU.

Customers send eligible requests to https://eu.parallel.ai rather than the default api.parallel.ai endpoint. Parallel says request and response content is processed and served in the European Union, is not retained, and is excluded from model training.

The option is available to enterprise customers with a DPA and a separate written agreement. It works with existing API keys. As of October 19, the EU endpoint supports Search in Basic mode and Extract; Parallel says further product coverage is planned. Pricing is stated to be the same as for non-EU products, and the endpoint uses Parallel's standard rate limits.

The boundary is not total EU-only handling. Parallel says billing, metrics, and edge logs are processed in the US, without request or response content. Extract URL lookups against the public page cache also occur outside the EU. The announcement does not establish independent verification of these processing claims, a full list of supported Search features beyond Basic mode, or a timetable for expansion.
