Field note
Ellis is another example of vertical AI moving from assistant copy toward operating state.
The site describes a private-credit platform that turns existing firm systems into one reconciled, source-verifiable book, then uses purpose-built AI agents across close, reporting, and portfolio monitoring. The interesting claim is not that AI can summarize credit data. It is that the agent has a trusted ledger-like substrate to act from.
That matters because agentic finance workflows fail quickly when the underlying state is split across spreadsheets, CRMs, document stores, and investor reporting tools. Ellis is betting that the moat is the reconciled book plus domain-specific agents, not the chat surface on top.
