OpenAI released three education plugins for ChatGPT Work and Codex: one for college students, one for K-12 educators, and one for college educators. Each packages applications, skills, instructions, and workflows around a role rather than offering a generic prompt library.
The plugins are distributed through ChatGPT Edu and ChatGPT for Teachers district deployments. OpenAI says more than 200 million people aged 18 to 24 use ChatGPT weekly and argues that structured deployments help ordinary users approach the workflows of power users. That is company-reported usage and should not be read as proof of learning impact.
Google and Kaggle reported 353,000 registrations for a five-day AI Agents and vibe-coding intensive, with more than 6,000 capstone submissions and over 12,000 active capstone participants. Those numbers demonstrate demand and project activity, not the quality or durability of acquired skills.
Together, the launches suggest a better educational unit: a role-specific workflow with tools, examples, constraints, and a produced artifact. The next evaluation question should be what learners can repeat independently after the course or plugin is removed.
