Cursor launches Agent SDK for building and deploying custom agents

In one minute

Cursor says its generally available Agent SDK lets software teams define agents in code, test them locally and deploy them to Cursor or their own infrastructure.

Cursor says the Agent SDK is the framework behind managed agents including Bugbot, Security Reviewer and Rollouts. It lets teams build agents that respond to events such as pull requests on GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket, and supports specialized agents, parallel subagents, evals and event replay.

Cursor describes an internal tool, kb-reviewer, built in about a day to check every pull request in the company’s main codebase against recorded lessons. Cursor says it flags contradictions and cites the relevant notes. The company also says PGA Tour uses the SDK for its software development factory and relies on its evals to iterate on workflows.

The SDK organizes prompts, TypeScript tools, service connections and evals as code that teams can version and review. Cursor says agents can be deployed with agent-sdk deploy to its infrastructure, or run on a team’s own infrastructure as a container-packaged Node process. The page does not specify pricing or further deployment requirements.

For AI builders, the SDK offers a code-managed route to tailor and deploy event-driven agents within existing development workflows; a caveat is that the page provides no pricing or detailed operational requirements.
