Field note
Cursor's Google Workspace plugins are a small release with a large product implication: the coding agent is no longer bounded by the repository alone.
The changelog frames the plugins as a way for Cursor to read, write, and act across Google Workspace. For engineering teams, that means the agent can connect code work with documents, email context, calendars, and review artifacts instead of treating them as separate manual tabs.
The important boundary is permission and review. Once the agent can reach workspace material, the product question becomes less about autocomplete and more about controlled context access: what the agent can read, what it can change, and where the human signs off.
