ChatGPT Voice: GPT-Live-1.1 brings new voices for six languages

In one minute

OpenAI has begun a gradual rollout of GPT-Live-1.1 for ChatGPT Voice, according to a Notebookcheck report citing OpenAI release notes dated October 15.

What changed: Same event as GPT-Live-1.1 is rolling out with new voices and better accents

The rollout also includes GPT-Live-1.1 Quip, described as a smaller version of the model.

The update adds Sonna and Miko voices for German, plus new voice options for French, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, and Mexican Spanish. English receives a new voice called Bubbie. Voice selection is available in ChatGPT Settings under Voice, but the voices shown may vary by account and region.

The report says Free users receive limited access to Quip without a stated fixed hourly allowance. ChatGPT Go includes three hours of Quip per rolling 24 hours; Plus includes three hours of GPT-Live-1.1; the $100 Pro tier has a 15-hour cap; and the $200 tier has no stated cap apart from abuse guardrails. The source does not establish when every account will receive the update, nor whether these limits changed as part of this rollout.
