BELL: The personal assistant stack

In one minute

Browserbase published BELL on October 26, 2026: a reference architecture and sample app for personal assistants that perform web tasks.

What changed: Browserbase presents BELL, a reference architecture and sample app for personal assistants, building on its prior 1Password agent sign-in work.

Its example takes a coffee-order request from iMessage or RCS and returns the completed-order details in the same conversation.

The stack assigns messaging to Linq and orchestration to Eve, which can expose tools and checkpoint execution while it waits for credentials or payment approval. Browserbase handles browser interaction with merchant sites. The example specifies a $30 spending limit.

For account and payment boundaries, the post names 1Password agentic autofill and Link by Stripe. It also describes Web Bot Auth, Baselayer, Visa Intelligent Commerce, and Trusted Agent Protocol as identity or payment-network components. Browserbase says the project is available as a reference architecture and sample app on GitHub.

The post does not establish production reliability across merchants, pricing or availability for every component, or that the identity and payment protocols are broadly deployed.
