A volume is published as an immutable version identified by a content digest, then mounted into a deployment through its configuration.
The company says users can push local directories or sync content from Hugging Face, S3, GCS, Azure Blob, Cloudflare R2, and CoreWeave buckets. Supported artifacts include model weights, LoRA adapters, TensorRT-LLM engines, indexes, tokenizers, lookup tables, evaluation data, and compile caches. Deployments can pin a digest; tags remain mutable, so Baseten recommends digest references for reproducibility. Earlier versions can be selected for rollback, and deleted versions remain restorable for seven days.
Sealed Volumes are available with Baseten CLI 1.1.0 or later, and require Truss 0.18.30 or later for Truss deployments. Baseten says mounts take seconds and stream data through BDN cache tiers. Volume mounts are not available on T4 or L4 instances as of the article's update. The source does not establish independent performance measurements, pricing, or availability outside Baseten's platform.
