The production used 2,070 generated images and 1,558 video clips, according to the report.
The pilot was developed with Genre AI. The report says Grok was used for research, writing and shot preparation, while Imagine generated and animated scenes. Generations were organized as individual film shots, with reference images prepared to support visual continuity between characters and settings.
The project followed an X competition offering $175,000 in prizes for Odyssey-related work made with Grok tools. Its winner, Nem Perez, submitted an approximately five-minute video. Elon Musk had previously said Grok Imagine would produce a full film based on the work by the end of 2026.
The source does not establish the pilot's quality, its production cost, the level of human labor involved, or whether a complete film will be released. It also does not independently verify the reported generation counts.
