Anthropic’s Claude Code changelog records a set of changes to its mods extension surface and runtime behavior

In one minute

Anthropic’s Claude Code changelog records a set of changes to its mods extension surface and runtime behavior.

What changed: Claude Code 2.1.310 adds runtime and cloud-session changes, plus improved mod Image rendering—updates beyond the earlier TypeScript mods launch.

Versions 2.1.299 and 2.1.300, dated October 14, 2026, added prompt media and session identity functions for managed mods, prompt decorations, a prompt.change hook, and the ability for an agent.spawn hook to rewrite a workflow agent’s prompt and model.

Version 2.1.304, dated October 19, added a transcript entry when a plugin skips a mod hook. Its tool.check event gained decider: "person" and e.isReadOnly; the former limits approval to the permission dialog or a host callback. The release also changed settings.read hooks to receive individual settings layers and added mod rendering in the VS Code chat panel for Bedrock, Vertex AI, Foundry, LLM-gateway, and telemetry-disabled sessions.

Version 2.1.309 on October 22 fixed a failure in the mod turn.step hook when a model alias such as haiku was used. The current page also lists version 2.1.310, dated October 23. The changelog does not establish which third-party mods are compatible, secure, or generally available across every Claude Code deployment.
