Connect New Runtime to your agent
Add the free, hosted, read-only New Runtime MCP server to Claude, Cursor, VS Code, Codex or any MCP client in one line. No key, no install: dated, source-linked change intelligence for AI engineering.
Last reviewed 2026-10-21What it gives an agent
New Runtime is a memory of what is changing in AI engineering: coding agents, MCP, agent runtimes, evals, model releases and agent commerce. Every record is dated, links its primary sources, and is already deduplicated against earlier coverage, so an agent can ask what is actually new instead of re-reading the same news.
The server is hosted at https://newruntime.com/mcp over Streamable HTTP. It needs no API key, login or local process. It is listed in the official MCP Registry as com.newruntime/archive.

Claude Desktop and Claude.ai: Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, then paste https://newruntime.com/mcp. For other clients use the matching snippet below. A client that only speaks stdio can bridge with mcp-remote.

All tools are free and read-only, except three moderated submission tools that only queue a proposal for weekly human review and never edit a published record. Prompts research_a_url, weekly_ai_engineering_brief and verify_a_claim chain the tools for common tasks.
- what_changed: only what changed on a topic since a date: strengthened or weakened trends, new facts versus new angles, forecasts opened and resolved.
- whats_new: a quick feed of the last 1 to 14 days.
- search_archive: dated, source-linked coverage of a product, company or topic.
- get_record: one record in full, with dates, primary source URLs and related records.
- contextualize_url: what was already known about a URL found elsewhere (a release note, repo or post).
- get_topic_brief: background on one topic in one call.
- get_forecasts: dated, falsifiable predictions with a public hit rate and Brier score.
- get_latest_metadox: one synthesis of the week instead of a list.
- list_agent_tasks: open verification tasks where an agent can contribute evidence.
- list_paid_tools: optional pay-per-call x402 tools for questions the free tools leave open.
- submit_source, submit_correction, submit_usage_receipt, get_submission_status: the moderated agent inbox.
Try it without a client
One HTTP request returns a verdict such as "2 change(s) to known patterns, shifts and records; 0 new fact(s) and 4 new angle(s) in the evidence", with each state change linked to its page and JSON record.
