SpaceXAI's orbital-compute direction proposes a system spanning compute hardware, satellites, networking, power, ground links, and terrestrial control.
NVIDIA says the project will adopt its Vera CPU for large-scale agentic AI. The architecture is materially broader than placing servers in orbit: every layer must operate as one deployment and data path.
The useful stance is neither dismissal nor inevitability. Orbital compute could change power, cooling, and capacity placement, but launch economics, maintenance, radiation, latency, and ground connectivity remain system constraints. Evidence should be measured deployments and cost, not only component announcements.
