Cline Desktop now documents SSH remote development. After a user selects a saved SSH host, Cline sessions run file operations, terminal commands, Git, MCP servers, and session history on that remote machine, while chat, approvals, and live output remain in the local desktop app. The remote helper is transferred through an SSH tunnel and cached under ~/.cline/remote/; no root access, open ports, apt, or npm are required. Remote Linux x64/arm64 and macOS hosts are supported; Windows hosts are not.
