Figma Agent exits beta with expanded context and library guidelines
Figma’s release notes dated October 6, 2026 say the Figma Agent is generally available and has exited beta. The update cites improved latency, file search in chat, and configurable guidelines for design libraries. Users can upload Markdown files containing rules, best practices, and antipatterns; the agent reads those files when prompted with the library enabled.
The release also adds ways to provide context from across Figma, including attaching files, searching for files, and pasting Figma nodes into the prompt. Figma says users can follow teammates’ agents live on the canvas. Generative plugins are now generally available, and custom skills are available on Starter. The release notes do not specify detailed paid-plan eligibility.
