The sidebar can read the open file and selected text, cells, or slides, then make targeted changes. In Docs, larger rewrites can be presented as suggestion cards; “Ask before edits” is the default, while “Accept all edits” allows changes to be applied without pausing for approval. Sheets support includes pivot tables, native charts, and moving ranges into Python for joins or data cleaning. Slides support includes building from the deck’s existing layouts and theme and checking for visual issues. The add-on is in public beta across paid Claude plans. Team and Enterprise owners must enable the connectors before members can edit Google files from Claude; access continues to follow existing Google sharing permissions.
