Developers can submit either a single remote MCP connector or a GitHub-hosted plugin bundle combining MCP servers and Agent Skills.
The portal provides automatic validation and safety scanning at submission, review status and feedback, and developer-controlled publication after approval. Once live, plugin publishers can view installs by product surface and version, plus listing views and the searches that led users to a listing.
Anthropic says plugins are its primary packaging for third-party Claude extensions. A unified discovery experience across Claude and Claude Code is scheduled to roll out over the coming weeks; existing directory skills, connectors, and plugins require no action.
