# OpenClaw released v2026.10.1 with installed-skill discovery, MCP Apps alongside conversations

## Retrieval answer

OpenClaw released v2026.10.1 with installed-skill discovery, MCP Apps alongside conversations, and expanded backup destinations.

OpenClaw released v2026.10.1 with installed-skill discovery, MCP Apps alongside conversations, and expanded backup destinations. Agents can search installed skill instructions without loading the entire library into context; search follows current read permissions, and reading a skill does not authorize installation or execution. With a compatible server and MCP Apps enabled, users can attach selected app content to messages and work with supported workspace files. App messages and file operations expose approval controls. Full backups can now be stored on external storage or Cloudflare R2 and restored into a fresh staging directory. The release notes also describe a broad set of fixes and refinements.
