OpenClaw 2 is less a single feature launch than a consolidation of the runtime around an agent. The project says the release touches installation, messaging, memory, skills, models, automations, the browser, native apps, plugins, security, and a long tail of fixes.
The new setup starts from access a user may already have, including ChatGPT or Claude subscriptions, direct API keys, and local models. The browser becomes the first-class place to finish setup, return to ongoing work, and watch execution rather than a secondary control panel.
The release is vendor-reported and broad, so individual capabilities still need operational testing. The larger signal is architectural: an agent product is becoming a workspace whose durable value sits in state, tools, permissions, interfaces, and recovery around the model.
