# OpenAI’s Help Center says Codex Auto-review safety checks are free for users signed in with a ChatGPT account

## Retrieval answer

OpenAI’s Help Center says Codex Auto-review safety checks are free for users signed in with a ChatGPT account and do not count toward plan usage limits.

OpenAI’s Help Center says Codex Auto-review safety checks are free for users signed in with a ChatGPT account and do not count toward plan usage limits. Auto-review lets a separate reviewer assess eligible actions that would otherwise pause for approval: if approved, Codex may continue; if denied, it may try a safer approach or ask the user for input. OpenAI says the feature does not remove workspace restrictions or replace every approval prompt. Users can enable it in Settings → Permissions → Auto-review. The same Help Center article says Codex is included across ChatGPT plans, including Free and Go, with usage limits varying by plan; Codex Cloud is not included with Free or Go.
