# Firecrawl announced Universal Scrape, extending its existing /scrape endpoint to handle web pages

## Retrieval answer

Firecrawl announced Universal Scrape, extending its existing `/scrape` endpoint to handle web pages, supported documents, and selected data-provider capabilities from Alexandria.

Firecrawl announced Universal Scrape, extending its existing `/scrape` endpoint to handle web pages, supported documents, and selected data-provider capabilities from Alexandria. The company says the endpoint can access dynamic web pages, PDFs, images, and URL-accessible Office files, alongside provider data such as people and company profiles, financial information, and podcast search and transcripts. Alexandria has more than 200 providers, but Universal Scrape currently supports a growing selection rather than the entire catalog. Provider calls use the Firecrawl API key and are billed in Firecrawl credits at each tool’s listed price. Firecrawl also says an organization administrator must accept Particle’s provider terms before using its podcast search. Source: https://www.firecrawl.dev/blog/universal-scrape
