# OpenAI has introduced GPT-6.1 Terra, a model positioned for visual reasoning, computer use, writing

## Retrieval answer

OpenAI has introduced GPT-6.1 Terra, a model positioned for visual reasoning, computer use, writing, and software work.

OpenAI has introduced GPT-6.1 Terra, a model positioned for visual reasoning, computer use, writing, and software work. The company says it is available now in ChatGPT Work and Codex for Plus, Pro, Enterprise, and Edu users, and through the API as `gpt-6.1-terra`.

API list prices are $1 per million input tokens, $0.05 per million cached input tokens, and $5 per million output tokens. OpenAI says these standard prices are 50% below GPT-5.6 Terra and GPT-6.1 Sol. It also says users can complete more work within the same ChatGPT Work and Codex usage limits than with those models.

In OpenAI's reported evaluations, GPT-6.1 Terra scored 15 percentage points above GPT-5.6 Terra on Agents' Last Exam at medium reasoning effort and roughly one-third of the cost. On Terminal-Bench 4.0 at maximum reasoning effort, OpenAI reports 50.3%, versus a published 21.5% for GPT-5.6 Terra.

The source does not provide independent validation of these comparisons, a full account of rollout timing by region, or results on a particular customer's production workload.
