Anthropic said on October 23, 2026 that its unified Claude experience is generally available for Claude Enterprise plans. Chat and Cowork now operate as one Claude experience on web, desktop, and mobile. A conversation can begin as chat and continue into cloud-based work involving code or files.

Anthropic says chats, projects, connectors, skills, and plugins carry into the unified experience. Enterprise administrators can control access by role and use a new Efficient mode that limits the experience to Sonnet and Haiku. Other stated controls include model entitlements, organization-, group-, and member-level spend limits, plus pooled monthly group budgets.

Enterprise pricing remains usage-based. Anthropic says Opus 5.5 costs 40% less than Opus 5 on typical workloads and Sonnet 5.5 costs up to 30% less than Sonnet 5 for most work. The company says cloud sessions run in isolated virtual machines, with network egress off by default and connector credentials outside the sandbox.

Organizations using zero data retention for Claude Code, a HIPAA-ready configuration, or customer-managed encryption keys remain on their existing configuration. The announcement does not establish independent performance, cost, or security results for the unified product.
